Bus travel

Oakwood Park is located nearby to a number of bus stops situated on Oakley Lane. The bus stops run eastbound and westbound offering access to different bus services.

The bus stops are serviced by the no 4, 6 and 13.

• 4 (Monday to Sunday) Wimborne -Merley – Broadstone – Poole
• 6 (Monday to Saturday) – Wimborne – Bearwood – Bournemouth – University
• 13 (Monday to Saturday) – Wimborne – Ferndown – Winton – Bournemouth

From Oakley Lane, the most frequent bus is service 4. Providing daily services around the Wimborne and Poole areas including Pool train station. The main bus stop nearest the site is situated between the junction with Oakley Straight and the B3073. During the week, this service runs between every 20 and 30 minutes with the last service returning at 00.03.

In addition to the three bus services on Oakley Lane, there are three school bus services running from Monday to Friday:

• 86 St Peter’s School – Departing from the stop at 07:18 and returning at 16:27
• 425 Broadstone Middle Schools – Departing from the stop at 08:02 and returning at 15:31
• 450 Poole & Parkstone Grammar Schools – Departing from the stop at 07:51 and returning at 15:53

Older Person Bus Pass

For those that are a resident in Dorset and of a State Pension age you are entitled to a free bus pass. This bus pass entitles you to free travel on bus services throughout England from 09:30am to 11:00pm Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on public holidays.
