Walking & Cycling
Chestnut Fields is surrounded by a number of walking and cycling routes providing access to destinations nearby and the rest of Surrey. Take a look at your local cycle routes and footpaths below:
A shared footway / cycleway is present on the eastern side of A320 Edgley Road, providing a route towards from Mayford Roundabout to the Turnoak Roundabout. From Turnoak Roundabout a shared footway / cycleway continues along Guildford Road providing access into Woking town centre via foot and bicycle.
There are various Public Footpaths present around Chestnut Fields that provide residents the opportunity to walk to several destinations, whether they are for work or leisure.

The Planets Cycle Trails
There are great cycle routes located around Chestnut Fields. From Mayford Roundabout, travelling northbound past the site there is a shared footway / cycleway on the eastern side of Egley Road. This route is known as the ‘Earth Trail’ and is part of the wider cycle network known as the Planets trail.

National Cycle Network
The National Cycle Network provides huge benefits to health and wellbeing, with 4.4 million people using the network between 2017 and 2018. 786 million walking and cycling trips were made on the Network. As a result, £88 million was saved through reduced road congestion.
Starting in Chertsey, National Cycle Route 223 provides routes along Guildford Road (north to south) and the opportunity to travel to Shoreham-by-Sea. Route 223 can be accessed on Wych Hill Lane via Edgley Road in the northern direction of the site. National Cycle Route 4 can also be accessed via route 223 in the centre of Chertsey. This is a long network route which provides access to London and Fishguard via Reading and Bath. There is also opportunity to join National Cycle Route 221 from Horsell Moor, a road adjacent to Woking train station which is approximately a 10 minute cycle north of the site. Route 221 is a quiet off-road route which travels from West Byfleet to Brookwood along the Basingstoke Canal.
