Bus
Acorn Bus Ticket:
- Acorn bus ticket offers unlimited travel for a day or week across many bus services in north Surrey, including Elmbridge, Runnymede and Woking Borough.
- You can change buses as much as is needed to complete your chosen journey, irrespective of which company runs the service!
- Ticket day price: Adult – £7.00 Child – £3.50
- Ticket weekly price: Adult – £30 Child – £15
Megarider Bus Ticket:
- Stagecoach offer Megarider tickets in the UK which are cashless and can be bought onboard, online or using the Stagecoach Bus App.
- 7 day and 4 week tickets are available, with savings up to 40% compared to buying seven day rider tickets.
- With unlimited travel in your area, the more you travel, the more you save!
Woking Travelwide Bus Ticket:
- This is the ideal bus ticket if you’re travelling in and around Woking on a regular basis.
- It is an easy and convenient ticket which is cheaper than paying for individual tickets and cheaper than driving and parking your car!
- Day tickets are valid on any bus after 9am Monday – Friday and all day Saturdays and Sundays.
- Daily ticket price: Adult- £5.80 Child – £2.90
£50 Travel Plan Voucher
As part of the Travel Plan, each household is entitled to a travel voucher worth up to £50. With three flexible options available, you have the opportunity to choose an option which would suit you and your household. This voucher can be used for / towards:
Option 1 – a choice of either White Bus or Stagecoach South bus passes. Choose a bus pass which suits you and your household, such as:
- X1 WhiteRider Week Adult Bus Ticket – unlimited travel on the White Bus network for 7 days
- X2 Stagecoach South Woking Flexi 5 – 5 day riders’ ticket for travel in Woking
Option 2 – A contribution towards cycling equipment of your choice up to £50.
Option 3 – A choice of Southern Rail Season Tickets. Choose a rail pass which suits you and your household, and we will reimburse you for up to £50.
How does it work?
Please send us an email at chestnutfieldsstpc@i-transport.co.uk, and provide the following information:
- Proof of purchase in the form of a receipt
- Your plot number and address (this is to ensure one voucher per household)
- Proof of address
- Bank details
We will then be in touch to confirm details about your Travel Plan voucher and your reimbursement.

Local Community Groups
Why not get involved with local community groups nearby to Chestnut Fields? Whether you’re new to the area or have been a resident for a while, there are a range of opportunities to get involved in, including:

- A safe space which operates a ‘pay-as-you-feel’ menu where you can pay for what you can afford.
- The Maybury Centre
- A community centre which provides facilities for education, health, welfare, advice, social, business and recreation.

- Epworth Choir
- A local choir group, open to anyone, that performs in Woking who aim to raise money for local charities and promote the enjoyment of choral singing.
- Rehearsals are once a week at Trinity Methodist Church.

- A society that brings people together with a shared interest for art and enables you to meet and attend lectures given by specialists.

School Travel
Barnsbury Primary School and Nursery
This school is located to the northeast of the site off Almond Avenue. A shared footway / cycleway is provided along the north of Egley Road providing a direct connection to the school.
Hoe Valley Secondary School
Located south of the site is Hoe Valley school, only a 5 minute walk and 2 minute cycle away. There is a direct route to the school from Egley Road with priority signal crossing just outside the school ensuring safety for children when crossing the road.
Freemantle Secondary School
This school is located to the southwest of the site off Egley Road then onto Mayford Green. There is a footway either side of the road making walking to this school easily accessible via a 9 minute walk and 3 minute cycle.
Westfield Primary School
Access to this school is via Egley Road, Westfield Road and Westfield Avenue and takes approximately 13 minutes by foot and 5 minutes by bicycle. There are footways present the whole journey and crossings with traffic signals provided when needed to cross the road via the route.
